Novation reMOTE 49 SL COMPACT

I currently have an X Station 25, but trying to sell it because I only use it for the midi, as most of my music is midi based. I don't use the synth at all. I don't like the fact that whenever I just want to record vocals, I have to connect the x-station for the phantom inputs, so I'm getting the Apogee Duet for the audio quality, portability, and vocals. I purchased an Axiom 49, but I'm considering returning the Axiom tomorrow. I like having the 49 keys and drum pads of the Axiom, but miss the feel and quality of the Novation. I recently saw the reMOTE 49 SL COMPACT, and I can't find any user reviews. So, has anyone used the reMOTE 49 SL COMPACT with LP8, and if so, how is it?

Hi,
I have the Remote 61SL. The main limitation (and it's a biggie...) is in that Logic's own native plugin parameters don't show up on the Remote. The software instruments do, as do all AudioUnits. The problem is in the way Logic's plugins are written, and Novation can't get them to Automap like the rest.

All other features work pretty nicely, i.e. Transport, Rec-arming, Pan, mute, solo, Faders etc.

You can create your own templates with a little work here and there. There's quite a good template editor that comes with it.

Thanks, I decided to go with the 25 instead of the 49 for extreme portability. You say the plugins won't work, can I program them into the memory as a solution? Thanks again.

Sort of...

It's a bit problematic because plugins respond to different messages depending on which effect slot they're in. If you always put a Channel EQ first in the plugin chain, then it's pretty easy to set up a template to do your EQing.

Hey Bryan,

Do you know how to set velocity lock on the drum pads on the sl compact? I can't figure it out, nor find it on their website.
