Dragging folders of Apple Loops to Browser

Does anyone else have this problem? The Logic 8 manual says that dragging a folder to the apple loops browser will create an alias of the folder in Library->Audio->Apple Loops-> User Loops

However, it sys "importing" when I do this but nothing comes up on a search. When I drag the individual files to the browser it does work, but everything is copied to my "single files" folder making it an unorganized mess. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

Did you delete your Apple Loops index files? User>Library>Audio>Apple Loops Index. Pull those files out and stash them somewhere just in case you need to go backwards. Then open Logic and drag your new loop folders into the loop browser area. You'll get a prompt asking if you want to keep the loops where you have them and just index them, which is what I've done since I keep mine (except the basic GarageBand set) on an external HD. After it's all done you might have to close and reopen Logic. Hope I'm telling you all of this the right way, I just did this two days ago to add some new libraries. It took me a while to get it straight. - Emile
