cannot receive emails, but can send

Just got an iphone today. Having trouble receiving email. I am able to send emails but am unable to receive them. My emails come through a pop server via my local cable/internet provider (RCN). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure what other information I could provide to aid in resolving this so please let me know if there is and I will do my best. Many thanks.

have you checked your account settings on your iPhone?

looks like RCN uses pop.rcn.com and username is just USERNAME without the @rnc.com (put your username without the @rcn or whatever it is) and password on port 110

and smtp is smpt.pop.com on port 25

I have checked the settings on the phone. My incoming is set at 110 and my outgoing is at 25. I have been sending emails out but still no luck on the incoming. Thank you for your response.

Have you checked the advanced setting to make sure SSL is off?

Yes, both incoming and outgoing ssl's are off.

Try setting ssl on for incoming and make sure port is set to 995 for incoming.

I was having the same trouble with my boss's iPhone. I was able to resolve it by changing the default imcoming authentication type from NTLM to Password. I left the incoming port set to 110. I hope this is some help to you.
