BOOTEX.txt?

Hello,

I plugged in my iPod nano into my computer, and went to 'My Computer', and opened my iPod. I found a new .txt file in the root folder, titled 'BOOTEX.txt', and it is 2KB. I did not put this file on here, and when I open it, it says this:

"Checking file system on G:
The type of the file system is FAT32.

One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You
may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
that you continue.
Windows will now check the disk.
Volume Serial Number is 3392-1CFC
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.

1907261440 bytes total disk space.
131072 bytes in 8 hidden files.
98304 bytes in 6 folders.
846577664 bytes in 207 files.
1060438016 bytes available on disk.

16384 bytes in each allocation unit.
116410 total allocation units on disk.
64724 allocation units available on disk."

I do not know what this is. I did not do any Windows based scans on my iPod. Is it just Windows checking to see if anything is wrong with my iPod. Can I delete it, or do I leave it on. Will it effect what I can store on my iPod. I am kinda confused, because I do not know what it is.

Thanks!

That file indicates that Windows examined the iPod for some reason, likely to check its structure. The file won't affect anything whether or not you keep it on the iPod.
