Driver installation error

I have the newest macbook with 10.5.1 installed. I installed Windows XP SP2 and everything seems to be fine, but when I insert the Leopard disk to install the drivers, I get an error code 2755 and I cannot proceed any further. Does anyone have any ideas on how to proceed?

Windows Installer error 2755 is a generic installation error thrown by the Windows Installer when it encounters an unexpected issue during installation and doesn't know how to deal with it. The best way to troubleshoot this is to create a Windows Installer log using KB article 223300 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300). When the Windows Installer logging is enabled it creates a log in your temp directory (%temp%) with the following syntax, MSI<hex numbers>.log. If you open that log and search for either the 2755 error or "Return Value 3" the preceeding few lines of the log will give you the problem "action". If you post that here I can probably diagnose the issue.

I followed the directions and I got 3 log files. The few lines preceeding the 2755 error code are

How about trying to install the drivers individually? This is from page 24 of the BootCamp installation PDF.

+If you need to reinstall specific drivers, you can install one driver at a time. For example,+
+if your built-in iSight camera isn’t working, you can reinstall just the iSight driver.+
+Individual drivers are in the Drivers folder on the Mac OS X Leopard installation disc.+
+To reinstall a specific driver:+
+1 Insert your Mac OS X Leopard installation disc.+
+2 Quit AutoRun if it opens.+
+3 Using Windows Explorer, locate the driver that you want to reinstall.+
+4 Open the driver to start the installation.+

Did you check the permissions on the "Installer" folder? The error you are getting is one where the System cannot create a file in the folder. That folder is extremely important to MSI based installs.

"How about trying to install the drivers individually?"

The problem with that is that you don't get the systray app, the os manager, keyboard support, localization, etc. It is best to get the install to work so you can get the whole package.

I've experienced the same problem...
During the install process, windows will ask you two times to enter a name.
At the first installation, the first time i gave my entire name and the second time i gave a "short name" (a sort of "nasty habitude" from MacOS). After that, Bootcamp couldn't install the drivers - error 2755.
Now i've made another install with two identical names - and Bootcamp works perfectly!

Hope this will help...

Cheers,
Sven
