force password reset

Does anyone know if there is a way, as there is under Windows, to force an OS X Server user to reset their password? For example, you can set a user account in Windows to require the user to setup a new password the next time they log in. I'm not seeing anything similar in OS X Server (10.4)

Ideas?

Hi John,

If you open Work Group Manager, click on the account (or multiple accounts) you want to force the change, then click the advanced tab.

You will see an options button under "user password type"

You can force a change from there.

If you choose multiple users you will have to tick both "allow user to change password" and "force user to change password on next login"

Hope this helps

ps. This will also force windows account users to change theirs if you are hosting a Windows Domain
