How can i get my iphone fixed

Hi all
i have a big problem now.
My Iphone staqrted to freeze every time it received a text message. A pal who also has an Iphone said he had experienced this and told me that the 1.1.2 update would cure the problem.

During the update the power went down and my ups wasnt connected to the Iphone only the PC and Monitor.
It must have been at a critical stage during the update as the Iphone is now scrolling (dos fashion) about 25 pages of text and it is now not recognised when in the cradle by Itunes. I have also downloaded third party progs to try and sort it out but none of them recognise or connect the phone.

What next??? where do i go from here??

any comment help or sympathy i would be most grateful

The official Apple way to fix an iPhone in this condition is to use the Recovery feature, as described in this link:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305797

It's VERY IMPORTANT to continue holding the HOME button after putting the phone in the dock until the phone displays the Recovery Mode message. This can take up to 30 seconds. Also, if you can't turn the phone off then do the same steps without turning it off first.

It's also a good idea to reboot your computer and launch iTunes before following the Recovery procedure.

Hi!! I'm experiencing a similar problem and i think i may need to follow the procedure you suggested, my only concern is if doing this, does the software update to 1.1.2?, i'm asking this since my iphone is unlocked for any sim since i don't live in the US or any of the countries where it's available, and i belive that if i update i might not be able to use the iphone as a phone again. Thank you for your help!!!
