where did my fonts go and how to get them back?

This question applies to my macbook. I've compared my macbook with those a few others and notice that I'm missing various fonts. I wonder if I might have left something out when I did a custom install of the OS, or perhaps deleted some accidentally.
Common fonts that my computer does not have include: Century Gothic, Tahoma, Gulim, and a whole bunch of others.
Any idea where these fonts might have gone and how they can get them back?

It is creating a problem when I receive Pages documents from others, because of missing fonts.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I checked the list of OS X installed fonts for Tiger and could see that Century Gothic, Gulim, and Tahoma do not come installed.
I now have a theory that the other people whose macs I checked have Microsoft Office installed, and that is why they have those fonts. I, on the other hand, do not have MS Office, which might explain why I don't have those fonts.
Does that sound like a good explanation?
