Quicktime or Quicktime Pro (which iTunes uses) don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

See: iPod plays video but not audio.

You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.

See this for help: Guide to converting video for iPod (Mac/Windows).

ok ive read into alittle and downloaded the program.
so let me try understand this.
ok, what u mentioned before is.

you had the same problem due to the MPEG being converted to MP4 file by itunes.

but you used "ImTOO MPEG Encoder 3" to convert your mpegs or other movie files into ipod-MP4 files, instead of using the converter from itunes.

and that should solve this?

heya Jeff
ok ive experimented a bit with the ImTOO MPG Encoder
which is the 3rd Party converter uve mentioned in your post.

i no longer have the original problem.

however, some of the MPEG files i convert into MP4 for ipod.
the sound or music is a little bit faster than the actions.

even films, e.g when someone talks...the sound comes out before they move thier mouth.

but with the original MPEG or AVI file ive converted from does not have this...

so obvsiously the converter does this?

any idea?

thanks heaps
