Photo Booth with sound?

Yes, there is more than one Photo Booth.  Photo Booth 2 comes with Leopard, and PB2 can record video clip that can have sound. You could get music or other audio with PB2 by recording it through your mic while you capture the video. However, although either iMovie or QuickTime Pro can add an audio track to an existing video, I do not know any way to do so by using only Photo Booth (any version).

If you do not want to upgrade to Leopard to get PB2, you can consider these alternatives:

• use iMovie to make your movie. iMovie's Share menu choices include one click email sizing.

• use freeware WebcamTweaker if you do not mind adding third party apps
 or want easy "effects" video, but I don't think this will record sound.

Yes, you can add sound, but not by using PB (or Leopard's PB2.)

If you have your music playing while you record a PB2 video, the sound can be recorded WHILE you are capturing video, but there is no way in in PB or PB2 to add sound to existing video or still images (that you have already made.)

I do not know any app that adds sound to still images. (You can make HTML simulations by imbedding both a still image and a sound file in an HTML page, but that is not really adding sound to the picture.)

You can convert any snapshot, whether made with PB2, the original Photo Booth, iChat, or any other app that can make a snapshot by importing it into iMovie or QuickTime Pro and adding the sound track in one of those apps. Then save the file as a QT movie.

Even if you do not make the image move, the file will still be a QT movie file, and QT movies can contain sounds.

You could also use the same procedure with iMovie or QT Pro to add to or change the existing sound on a movie clip that has already been saved, whether recorded by PB2 (the original PB did not record video), WebcamTweaker, or any other app that can record movie or video clips.

So go buy Leopard, and enjoy. However, you will not be able to add sound to either the still or movie files you make using Photo Booth 2 except by using some other application.

If you would rather, you can certainly use iMovie and Tiger to do what you want without buying Leopard or any other software, but you will miss out on all the other new, fun features in Leopard.

I have Leopard on my macbook pro.. and i'm trying to record a funny video using photobooths face effects. i want to record a video while using the funny effects, as well as recording music. how can i do that? does leopard automatically come with photobooth 2?

In Photo Booth:
Select the iPhoto icon to export to iPhoto.
In iPhoto:
Select the "+" button in iPhoto and select "slideshow".
Put a nice slide show together, and add music. Preview the show.
Export.
In Quicktime:
If you like the result, select "share", Quicktime menu.
Select Mail, mind the size when you choose the quality level.
Mail opens with your multi media show ready for you to add some comment then send.

iPhoto is part of iLife.

You can record video in Photo Booth export to iPhoto.
Open iMovie select "import movie from iPhoto"
Edit as you please and add your music.

iMovie is part of iLife.

Leopard does not come with iLife, iLife comes as bundled software on a wide range of Macs.
Select "Mac OSX" software, Apple menu.

To record music that is playing while you make the PB2 video recording with your Leopard-equipped MacBook Pro, be sure your System Preferences... > Sound > Input is set to use the correct mic for recording and that its input sound Level is properly adjusted. Photo Booth 2 will then record any sound that is sufficiently loud while your are recording video. If your PB2 recording captures your voice but not the music playing while you are talking or singing, you need to make your voice softer, move farther from the mic, or increase the volume of the music until the music and your voice are about equally loud to your mic.

If you want to record the video first and add music that is recorded later, use an app like iMovie or QuickTime Pro to add the music to your saved PB2 video file.
