texting with big hands?

Does anyone with big hands find it difficult to text because I have pretty large hands and I was wondering if this is the right phone for me because I text ALOT and I really want a Iphone.

I have relatively big hands, big thumbs especially, and I have found it surprisingly easy to type on the iPhone, both because of the predictive text feature, and the fact that you can slide your finger over the keyboard (when it's on screen) and pick up your finger when it is on the key you want. This feature is most useful in selecting punctuation or numbers quickly, since you don't have to actually switch to the other keypads, just hold down on the entry and slide to what you want and the regular qwerty keyboard doesn't ever really go away.

So far, I'm much happier than I was with my BlackBerry (Pearl or 8800) - I can cut my thumbnails shorter 'cause I don't need the longer nail to hit the tiny chicklet keys on the BlackBerry keyboards. 🙂

My husband has large hands (that just sounds dirty, somehow, LOL!) and it took him a couple of days to get used to it, but he has no trouble typing on his iPhone now. The trick is to not give up during that learning curve and all of a sudden you'll just "get it".

I have acrylic nails and can't use my fingertips, so it took me a little bit longer than most to get used to it...I use the flat pads of my fingers and now I do fine.

If you have an Apple store near you I recommend going to play with an iPhone in person for a bit.

i have about normal hands (US large size glove ) but i did find it hard at first to text with it, my brother is 6'3'' and has rather large hands and also has an iphone. for both of us we have gotten used to it, you get a muscle memory that gets your thumbs to hit in a way that only a very small amount touches.

it takes a little while but i think you would be fine with it after some practice
