PORT ENABLE AHHHHHHH!!!

ahhhh, guys (and girls) i need big help if anyone can help me please!

Im trying to use Nullrivers, Mediashare so i can use all my movies and music etc on y PS3 wirelessly.

now when i tell the application to start it just gives me the error:

"MediaLink could not start because port 9385 or 9386 is in use. Please close any application that may be using these port and try again."

Now ok fair enough i went to the Airport Extreme (802.11n) and was looking to change the ports under the NAT tab, but it does not seem to work !!!

can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong please ??

So, I am running the same setup (Extreme, MacBook) but did not encounter the port problem. My firewall is "Set access for specific services and applications". MediaLinkHelper is set to Allow incoming connections in the Firewall settings.

However, I have another issue, it is not streaming and I get a DLNA 2103 error on the PS3, the P33 does see the Mac.

Make sure there is no other programs or startup programs using the port.

Are you also running EyeConnect or similar? I was -that was the problem. Shut it down in system preferences and away you go. Not also that v1.02 has been made available.

excellent stuff i am up and running, but i am still getting an error on the ps3!!

"DLNA 2103 error" on the PS3, the P33 does see the Mac.

the same error that the other guy has

Note that v1.1 was released last night.
I too am getting these errors after about 10 minutes of use, but prior to that it was working well in most departments.
I am encouraged by their frequent releases: clearly they are working on it and I have hopes that this will prove to be the best solution yet. EyeConnect works fairly well (since Leopard) but is rarely updated ar improved. Given the price, it ought to be.

Same problems with "ports in use" here. I was testing before EyeConnect, and maybe this is the problem. I stopped EyeConnect and send it to trash, but something is wrong.

hey i had the same problem with the ports..did you by any chance have "eye connect" installed at any point? if you did or even if you didnt i was able to solve my problem by going to ~library/startupItems and i dragged the "eyeconnect folder to the trash. that allowed me to use media link for my ps3 with no problems.
