Does the iPod Shuffle work as aux in car stereo?

Has anyone been able to make the shuffle model work as an auxiliary input to a car stereo? Should it connect the same as an MP3 player?

The answer to this is manufacturer and model specific...HOWEVER, IF the car stereo has an audio-in, you can use a patch cable between shuffle audio-out a and the car stereo's aduio-in.

I am trying to connect it to a new Acura TL - there is an aux outlet that I am plugging a Belkin cable (from Apple store) into. The aux screen comes up when I put the plug in but cannot get any songs to play through the shuffle.

Have you read your manual for the audio system? WHAT does it specifically say regarding iPods??

Is the "aux outlet" actually an audio-in port, like a 3.5mm socket? In that case, you need to turn the volume up on the shuffle...
