xgrid. how to add a client? Xgrid is not adding the Ghz of the clients
the xgrid in server admin is not getting the information of the clients, could not connect, reason unknown.
after all the odyssey of trying to get up an running the server with fresh installation, we arrived to xgrid, this is the current issue:
we have a server with 4 ghz, and a client with 14.4 ghz
server: computer name www.nnn.com, local host name: www, network interfaces:(en0) IP 201.x.x.x dns www.mmm.com, firewire0, IP: 192.x.x.x, dns www.
the computers are connected via firewire0, status connected
1)in the server:
overview in Xgrid: in leopard server: it is turned on,agent available,
controlled by: www.xxx.com, controller running, working 0 ghz, available 4ghz,
settings: enable angent service=on, use a specific controller: www, acent accept tasks: always, enable controller service, authentication: =(case a: all set in "kerberos", case b: all set in "password")
configure xgrid service (done) username with admin privileges (done)
status: green www.mmm.com, , agents 1, available 4 ghz., agents (yellow, ip address 201.x.x.x),
running the same xgrid admin in the server displays the same information: agents 1, available 4ghz, agents (yellow, ip address 201.x.x.x),
the error log after restarting xgrid:
notice: agent will accept tasks
notice: agent maximum task count is 2
notice: agent processor speed is 2000
notice: agent connected to controller "www"
notice: controller accepted agent connection fromn "201.x.x.x" port "50813" (sid=0x21dc50)
notice: controller agent "www.macbol.com" state changed to "available"
b)the client computer:
system preferences, sharing, sharing xgrid: activated (green)
authentication:(case a: set in "kerberos", case b: set in "password")
controller: use specific controller: www
Accent accept taks: always
note: To check that it is not a problem with passwords I set the same password for controller, agent and clients, inaddition I made 2 tests: one with all set in "kerberos" (case a), other with all set in "password" (case b)
xgrid admin in the client computer:
add controller: www error: connection failure, a connection to service "www" could not be opened
so, I checked the server xgrid log: error:
www xgrid(24755) could not connect to www.mmm.com (reason unknown)
www notice: xgridcontrollerd(22732) connection closed (sid = 0x21a610)
in xgrid admin in the client computer, when using the "password option only" , in add controller, and the address www.mmm.com, was the only option that allowed me to access the xgrid server console (kerberos didnt worked)
so, Leopard Xgrid it is not adding the 14.4 ghz of the client !
any idea how to do it?
any help is appreciated.
thanks a lot
