Editing PDFs in Preview: yellow highlight?

I have recently discovered the Text Annotation feature in Preview which allows me to edit text in a simple PDF form. However, every time I edit a word, Preview adds a yellow highlight box around the text I've edited. Does anyone know how to get rid of this yellow highlighting?
