Alright, got an interesting question for everyone. I'm running a iMac G5 running 10.3.9 ( All updates)-1.8 Ghz, 768 RAM, 80 Gig hd, superdrive. I'm running Classic that came with the install CDs and when I run Photoshop or any other application in Classic that involves text, I get multiple letters when I only hit a key once. This is for publication and I have to make sure I have good proof readers. The word as is a very troublesome word 😉 I've tried replacing fonts, repairing OS X permissions, repairing disks, reinstalling Photoshop (and other software affected with the problem). I've also reinstalled Classic several times and no luck. I've even copied a known good system folder and I get the multiple letters. Let me know if anyone needs more information.
Yes, I have. I did reinstall both 10 and classic and only install photoshop and the same problem happened. I have since had this problem happen on other computers not associated with this one (I support a couple of newspapers) It's getting to be a real bugger. If anyone has any ideas (other than make the customer buy lots of copies of expensive software) I'd appreciate it.
Ouch! still they shouldn't need to fork out but which version Photoshop is this, and does it have any plug-ins, please?
I haven't gone above 6.0.1, but I have run that on every version of X, all of them with 9.2.2 since that came out, and earlier with whatever was available, and never seen silly lettering like that
I can't believe iMac G5 hardware queers the pitch, but that would leave the keybaords and while it's easy to imagine one failing, several is too much
no plug-ins as of right now. I'm thinking it might be something with adobe because pagemaker is doing the same thing. I've tried Pagemaker 5, 6, 7 and photoshop 5 and 6 all with no luck.
It's hard to see how but if you physically disconnect all peripherals and install only Apple 9 and X and Photoshop, any problem must be down to a hardware fault.
