Yvan,

Universal Access would be a good solution if people wanted to change background colors globally. Since the poster asked specifically about Pages, I assumed that was his only area of interest. I happen to think that it would make sense to implement a feature to allow the background color to be changed.

To the original poster: you can get want you want with the above-described work-around. In the meantime, send some feedback to Apple and let them know what you need.

tiny,

Welcome to Apple discussions.

Unfortunately, there is no simple command to change the background color. But you can build it yourself by inserting a rectangle, stretching it to cover the page, changing its color as needed, sending it to the background, then saving the whole thing as a template so that you don't have to build it again.

Let us know if any of these steps stumps you.

Hello DennisG

I will send a message to ask the wanted feature to Apple but I wish to check something before.

With the described tip, the background apply only to one page.
It would be necessary to insert a coloured rectangle for each page.
It's what I see on my French version but I prefer to check that it works the same worldwide.

OK

I was not sure that this feature exists.
So, at this time there is this workaround but from my point of vue it's not fully satisfying.

If I understand well the original question, it is usefull for the OP to work on a coloured background but this one doesn't need to be printed.

In fact the problem appears to be a wider one.
I'm wondering if it isn't a feature to add in Universal Access.
