Multiple Networks - Same SSID...?

Hi - At my home I have my network setup, with multiple Access Points - they all have same SSID, WPA-PSK, Access Control lists etc, different channel, so roaming is possible.

Another family member has a network with the same SSID - I would like to use this with my MacBook's or PowerBook.

Will joining that network - with the same SSID, overright my one? ie, if the SSID was TURNIP - would joining their turnip remove or replace the TURNIP entery for my network - or in addition to this does it store the W.A.P's MAC Address? - In which case no problem will occur.

Whilst writing this post, I have wondered - if I had a corporate network - with 50+ WAP's I wouldn't first need to register it for all of them... Does it try the first TURNIP ssid security settings, then move onto the next automatically-?

Thank you for any help you can provide.
