I cannot uninstall apple software update....

I am not able to uninstall my apple software update. I keep getting a prompt saying the network resource is unavailable and I don't know were to find the source. I may have deleated the source, maybe??, and I am unable to repair the software update. I think this may be why I am unable to reinstall the latest version of itunes/quicktime. When trying to reinstall the newest versions, it tells me that the older version of apple software update cannot be removed. Any suggestons?? Please???? I'm so fustrated!!!

That's usually a problem with the installation configuration information for ASU for Windows.

Try the following procedure.

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any *Apple Software Update* entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those Apple Software Update entries, and click “remove”.

Restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly now?
