Reindexing a project - Can't compile after I move the folder

Whenever i move a project folder, Xcode keeps looking for files at the old location, which aren't there. All my stuff is set to be in the project folder, and I hear that reindexing fixes this, but I can't figure out how! If anyone has any insights into this problem, I'd really appreciate it if you post them here.

I think the secret is to move the project folder when Xcode is not looking. That is, close the project before moving the files. If you have done that, and the compilation is still failing, perhaps you need to clean the project (remove the old versions of the build products) before proceeding.

Um, erk, OK. How about trashing your Xcode preferences and re-establishing your settings? If that still fails, you may need to de-install and then reinstall the whole Developer installation. Use the script in /Developer/Tools to uninstall if you have to go this route.

Is it just the one project, or does it happen to any project that you move? Maybe you just have to reassemble the single buggy project you have. After that, I'm clean out of ideas for you.

It happens to all of them, but from what I've read in other forums, it seems that this is a common problem and can be solved by indexing the project that was moved, just to force Xcode to update the filepaths. Do you know how this can be done?

Open the project in XCode, then use File-->Get Info. The rebuild button is at the bottom of the General tab.
