Changing icons in Mainstage

I can add custom icons in Logic with Logiconizer, but they don't show up in Mainstage. Any suggestions?

To start with, I'd make a copy of the Mainstage app before doing anything. Anything you do is totally at your own risk!

Control click on the application icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. In the resulting Contents folder is another folder called Resources. In that is a folder named Images. The icons are in here. I took a screen shot pic (which is a .png file) and renamed it using a missing number from the existing list (10.png in this case).

It seemed to work.. BUT... I have no idea what affect this might have on the app.

Good luck...

Don't modify the application - it is risky, will break updates and not necessary!

Do the following: Make sure the following folder exists:

~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Images

Now you can copy your images in this folder. They should be not too large (128x128 is fine) and can be pretty much any format (MainStage uses png, but jpg and others also work fine)

Both methods work.. I just tried the Blueberry's suggestion, though I had to manually create the Images folder inside the Logic app support folder.

I would guess that the reason the first suggestion might break updates is that the updater will look at the resources and compare them against what it is trying to install. If something about this comparison fails (the result of you changing the resources) then the updater might take a dump. But, that's just a guess.. and that's why you made the copy 🙂
