Installed Transmission Torrent Client... now Airport Extreme freezes/crash

I just downloaded Transmission today for the first time. I have owned an airport extreme 802.11n router with gigabit for the last few months. It as the latest firmware version 7.2.1. I use the router to create a wireless network for my Macbook, no external drives or printers attached. I am running OSX 10.4.11. Since the day I set up the router it has run with no problems. Until today...

My router crashes/freezes now and I lose my internet connection. I have to hard reset the router to get my computer to find it again. This began after transmission entered the picture. Is there some settings that I need to change on the router to make transmission work with the airport extreme? I've searched the apple forums and seems this is a very common problem with torrent programs and airport extreme. Hope someone can help me out with a solution or I may have to give up on Transmission/torrent clients for the sake of maintaning my internet connection stable.

Hey guys !!

I have a similar issue... Airport doesn't crash but Transmission stop transmitting and then starts again every... 5 minutes ! So very unefficient!

I think I'm going to try that IPv6 turning off thing... but are there any downsides to this?
I mean if we turn it off, is there still a Firewall in the router ?

Thanks !!
