Splash of Hot Chocolate on keyboard

I sploshed a small Hot Chocolate splash onto the bottom right portion of my keyboard and a little on the mouse pad aread, non in speaker vents. (it wasnt alot but still to much in my eyes) Even though I soaked it up quickly with paper towel, used compressed air to blow most out, it didnt make a frying noise or smell, it didnt even effect the oporation of the computer when it happened, I took off 7 or so of the keys that got messy under neith and so far prevented them from sticking at all, powered back up after my extensive cleaning and drying and there is absolutely NO problems or sign of any problems besides those keys having a hint of brown hot chocolate residue I could not reach, IM STILL FREAKING OUT. The computer is absolutely fine so far and Im sure it not damaged but I am STILL so incredibly bothered and upset it happened. Im worried there is still dried hot chocolate maybe on the inside where some ran down the the very bottom of the key board cavity area where I can see there are teeny vent holes. I remember soaking up the majority fo the liquid in that area. Im thinking those holes are so small it may not have gotten down in there sine I was quick.

I guess my questions are. Will the dried HC liquid cause corrosion?
Should I take it to a mac store to see if they should open it up to clean it?
My warrenty was going to be up in may and I was planning on buying the apple care plan but now will it be worthless to do? Is my warrenty void now that I got a little hot chocolate in the darn thing?

Has anyone had a small sugary liquid spill like this happen and have NO issues at all down the road. Im so worried its ok now, but will wig out later.

ANY feedback would be appreciated

Obviously these kind of situations can vary based on a number of factors, but I would think you should be fine.

I've splashed water, Cola, even hair-dye (really!) on the keyboard of my MacBook and months have passed with great everyday performance. Not a single problem!

Generally, although not considered officially 'splashproof' a drop of liquid here and there shouldn't cause any major problems. A considerable amount needs to get into the power supply/processor etc to cause lasting damage.

If it is working fine now, I think you can assume the splashes didnt do any damage.

Hope that helps!

If you take it to an Apple store for cleaning they will charge you. If you by apple care the liquid spill will only invalidate damage done from the liquid spill and apple care should still cover other problems.

I had a G3 powerbook for 7 years. About 2 years into owning it a cat peed all over my back pack which contained the computer. I never had any problems with the system running -It still runs fine (but slow as it is a G3). At one point I destroyed the power connector board inside the laptop and had it repaired by an authorized dealer. He cleaned out the bit of corrosion that was caused by the cat pee, but did not replace any parts.

If it will make you feel better and you can afford it pay an authorized service agent to open her up and clean her.
