What's the Best iPhone case????

I gave the 8GB iphone and I spent way too much money to be dropping and breaking it. I looked around for about a month before I decided on a case and the case I chose was the Matias iPhone Armor Case in black. The case is constructed of sturdy aluminum and has access to all ports. It is also vented to keep the phone cool. The phone fits in snuggly with a neoprene liner for shock absorbtion. The real drawback of this case is that sometimes it is a bit awkward trying to type and hit the home button because of the way the case fits around the phone, but after getting use to it I find it's worth fiddling for a few extra seconds if my phone does not fall and shatter into a hundred $4 pieces.

Read over this thread for info on the Otterbox defender case. I'm a big fan of it. It's the best out there IMHO.

The case has port covers so no lint or dirt gets in. Plus it has a built-in clear screen protector/membrane that still allows the use of the touch screen.

I've read a lot of posts on cases and it seems to me that the otterbox is the best case for the money. Many of the cheap cases that are out there allow dust or lint to get in and can cause scratches on the chrome or edge of screen. I am actually placing my order for a otterbox case this week.

I’ve tried a lot, and I do mean a lot of cases. I’ve spent a lot on my iPhone and equally on accessories but the main objective is to prevent the inevitable drop on the pavement from destroying my iPhone AND still make the iPhone look awesome.

The leather holsters didn’t work for me because they don’t protect all four corners. Out of the silicone models, DLO’s Jam Jacket is great but only comes in black. The sister Jam Jacket with Headset Management comes in colors but management system going on in the back is clunky and drives me crazy.

Equally as good, if not better would be the Incase Protective Cover which is considerably more expensive but really works well with the phone. I have red and slate but the red conforms better and hides the metal ring around the phone.

As far as protection, I dropped my phone with the DLO Jam Jacket on it and sent it doing cart-wheels on the pavement with no visible damage. I’m not so sure the Incase Protective Cover could do that because the silicone is significantly harder than the DLO model which also makes it harder to get off and on.

Hey I am currently using the capsule switcheasy case and love it hardly adds any to the Iphone it hard so it protects the total phone it has a plastic screen gaurd on top of your already screen protector and being you leave in your pocket and the lint the case is design for easy removal no more prying it apart scratching phone or breaking case it has a switch in the back just slide and it pops off google this case I got mine from Ebay but they have a web address so just google switcheasy case and if you are interested it also has a clip sold separately . You don't have access to the switch on the side of the phone that turns the ringer off.

I know a lot of people have really dissed the case because of it, but to be honest, all I do is turn the volume all the way down and that does the job. I really don't see it as a big deal. But, to some it's very important.

It's a great protective case and I haven't found another case out there that looks like it offers the same protection all around.

That's an interesting looking case. I am not sure I like the idea of aluminum though.

Just to be clear, the iPhone doesn't get warm while in the OtterBox case. I have had it on my phone for more than a month now and I've never experienced my phone getting warm or hot.

yep yep yep, otter otter otter! the ringer issue isn't really that big. just turn the volume down or make a ringtone that is silent. so when the phone rings, it's on a silent ringtone! (genius huh?) I recommend otter since it protects against dust, dirt, water (resistant), shocks, bumps, and drops. It totally covers the iPhone!

I was looking at the otterbox defender case but is it ture that you cant use the vibrate button?

Hands down the best case for all iPhone users would be the Agent18 hard case family... Dont waste tour money in the stores, go on ebay to find the best deal!!!

I agree. Picked one up last night. Doesn't add bulk. Solid. Easy to slide bottom cover to attach to a dock. Nice looking. Love it!

Any isssues with the Agent18 case and dust or lint getting in and causing scratches?

Can't say. I don't own that case. Unless you meant the post for crizzle2004.
