iSync conflict with other conduits

I just upgraded to Tiger and, with it, to iSync 2.1. I use Oracle Calendar and have set iSync to only sync my contacts (Address Book) because I want to continue to use the Apple Addrress Book. I have made sure to remove the Oracle address conduit.

With 2.1, iSync insists on removing the Oracle events and tasks conduits even though I have set it not to do calendar syncing. Further, it refuses to run if I put them back.

Does anyone have a fix for this very irritating behavior?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

Generally speaking, with the release of iSync 2, simply moving the conflicting conduits alone is not sufficient to avoid the conflict. Once you've turned off the conflicting data type in iSync and moved the conduits, you must also trash your iSync preferences file - com.apple.isync.plist - which is found at:

Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Preferences:com.apple.isync.plist

Once you've done that and relaunched iSync, you should be able to synchonize as you did prior to upgrading to iSync 2 or the it's updated 2.1 release.

Well, I don't use iSync for the calendar sync. For that, I use Oracle's sync because I'm not syncing to iCal. iSync does sync the address book data successfully. I do believe there is something flaky about the whole thing, because I have gotten my office desktop system to work correctly but I've never gotten my PowerBook to work. Same op sys, same Palm software. I haven't tried to work through the problem because it is not critical for me.

I tried and tried, contacted Oracle, seems it's a problem. Finally had to get around it by getting an application loaded on my Palm called SyncML that allowed me to use wireless IP through my provider to sync directly and by-pass the PowerBook. It's a work-around till things get sorted out.
