Aug 8, 2005 8:02 PM in response to Oscar Appelgrenby OrangeMarlin,Oscar, welcome to the world of Macintosh.
If you do a search of this forum, you'll find that Nokia (the company) is NOT very Macintosh friendly. They do certain things like keep some of their software proprietary and changes it with every new model. My suggestion is to move to another phone manufacturer who is more helpful to Apple in developing iSync to work with their phone. Many do. Nokia doesn't. -
Aug 9, 2005 1:18 AM in response to OrangeMarlinby Oscar Appelgren,Thanx for your advise Michael. I think I will stick to my phone for a while anyway, it cost a bit... I found that macmedia.sk had a software that supports the 6230 in some ways. I think it will suffice for now in syncing the calendar.
If I were to change, what would you recommend?

Aug 16, 2005 7:19 AM in response to Oscar Appelgrenby dave F.,If it is the case that Nokia is not being mac friendly then perhaps we could ask Apple to officially request them to help out and/or we start a pettition to Nokia to help out or lose good customers. To any Apple reps on this board, your help will be most appreciated. To any Nokia reps on this boar, get yer bumsickles in gear! -
Aug 16, 2005 3:04 PM in response to OrangeMarlinby Los Angeles,Except, Nokia was one of the very first phones that did in fact work with Apple isync and bluetooth... I don't really see how Nokia and Apple work any less or better then other cells.
The overall technique for making cell phones work with Macs is still in relative infancy - Besides, at some point we'll all be buying Apple cell phones.
Don't dump your Nokia, it remains one of the best manufacturered, cutting edge phones on the market.
PS - In the past two weeks alone Apple and Nokia have reach deals to do some Open Source together as well as create a Safari type browser for Nokia phones... So much for not being "friendly." -
Aug 17, 2005 8:02 AM in response to Los Angelesby Alexander Traud,Open source can be used by anyone as long as you follow the license. I do not think Nokia made any deal with Apple. I doubt Apple was active at all, Nokia just searched for a solution, found and uses it. -
Sep 7, 2005 1:06 PM in response to OrangeMarlinby Mika Inkinen,Nokia keeping software proprietary? Now that sounds familiar... Apple, of course, does everything (including their GUI) in an open source world! -
Sep 8, 2005 9:00 AM in response to Mika Inkinenby Alexander Traud,Apple does not offer everything as open source. They open source only those parts which have to be open source. Who told you anything else? -
Sep 8, 2005 4:59 PM in response to Alexander Traudby Mika Inkinen,I take it the attempt at humour went unnoticed... Oh well, another day...
