My last phone...Motorola SLVR L7, was able to tkae a picture and then SMS it over to another phone with a text description attached. Is this possible with the iphone? So far it looks like I can ony email photos.

How do I send a picture to another phone if I can't send via sms? ie: Send a picture from my iphone to my wife's samsung (non smartphone) cell phone.

Thinkpad A30P, Windows XP Pro

SMS is a text only service and is supported by the iPhone, what you mean is MMS. Currently the iPhone does not support MMS and as Apple do not comment on unreleased products/updates they have not indicated if they will ever add support for this.

So, in the meantime email is the only option. (You cannot use Bluetooth to send pictures either.)

It was a pretty HUGE disappointment to realize that the iPhone does not support MMS. I've paid $400 for this awesome piece of technology that can't do something that my old, beat to ****, $100 plain cellphone can--send/recieve a text message with an attached photo to/from another cellphone or iPhone. I did this routinely with my husband and friends and losing this capability is a drag. The iPhone has such a nice camera that I'd like to be able to capture nice photos and send them to friends and family--directly on their phone. And frankly I'd like to be able to receive photos. Please, Apple engineers, reconsider your stance on excluding MMS capability.

You aren't addressing anything to any Apple employees here.
