Ultrabeat not loading samples?

I have excactly the same problem 😟
Was working on a song for a long time.. lost the samples.. had to start all over again.
The sample preview is also not workig 😟
Got a MacBook Pro..

It's really annoying bug.
I've loaded samples, named them,saved as a setting. Next day- same project my samples are gone, instead I get some of the samples from the default setting.
What's more - I load some samples, can play them, but if I switch the EQ ant turn the gain knob I get that ear-killing noise and the graph on EQ turns square.
Try that guys...
Hopefully Apple will sort out sample import issue cos UBeat is my No.1 beat machine,
but to be honest I doubt it...

I'm getting the same behavior-- I spent a frustrating two hours trying to figure it out--Is it safe to say that this is a known bug ? Is there a list of known bugs that I can reference instead of spending time trying to figure out what I did wrong ?

Could some knowledgeable person please comment on this ? I posted a question about this a couple of days ago and received no responses. Is trial and error the only way to discover what actually works or is there some documentation somewhere that lists bugs and work arounds ?

You guys haven't messed with the folders associated with UB or the EXS24? How about the files themselves? Any renaming outside of the instruments themselves?

If you mess with the file folders or names of the files, Logic will have trouble finding the files that it needs.

I myself have loaded plenty of samples into UB, saved them as their own drum kit, and have never had a problem with any samples missing.

No, I have done absolutely nothing with the folders. Everytime I save a drumkit in UB and then reload it, the samples that it puts in are not the same samples. Could it be a Leopard thing ?

I'm just trying to figure out if its a bug or if there is something I can do about it. Others...please ?

Well, I'm still not using Leopard, so I can't say anything about that as the issue. Very well might be though... Hopefully someone else will respond.

I've given up on Ultrabeat. It just takes too long. There's nothing wrong with my folder/file or alias setup. I have no problems with anything else. Ultrabeat is constantly asking where samples are located, even in the case of factory presets, and doesn't remember for next time. Yech.

Weird thing is I also have LP8.01 and Leopard on my Mac Book and dont have this UB problem. Only on my brand new Mac Pro. When I installed LP8 on my Mac Pro, I did a custom install and where it was optional, I installed content on a second internal drive. Could that have anything to do with this ? The Macbook install was all default.

smart electronics live cut
major malfunction
native instruments fm 8

now i'm back on my imac and it's all strange again..

1st: i try it with just my on board sound card, create a ultrabeat with samples in it i only use maybe 8 or so save it and it works fine, i change to a preset bank and back to the bank i just created and all the names are as i named and samples the samples i had input are there.

2nd: restart logic and try the same all ok again.

3rd: restart logic turn on external sound card and try the same, logic see my preset and all samples and names.

4th: start to make another and save as another name, change the bank to a preset
and the re-open my saved preset, names are as i named but samples are different.

5th i restart logic and open ultrabeat but this time i don't turn on the power button on the sequencer, now make a kit of my samples, save it, change the bank,
re-open my saved bank and it loads perfect......



i'm going to give this a few goes but for me so far it's working perfect except
if you turn the machine on and then try and save it wont remember for some reason.


give 5 a go and please post back you results

At least on my Macbook it doesnt matter if the sequencer is on or off. On my Macbook the saving of kits and importing and saving is working fine...I'll try it with my Mac pro when I get home from work
