Well to tell you the truth I believe I downloaded them both at the same time. I downloaded the update first and the iTunes so they were downloading at the same time..

iTUnes must be updated before you can update your 1.1.3

BEWARE!!!! This update takes about 30 minutes on a fast cable network. Don't start the process unless you have the full time to do it.

Just like the last update, it sits and waits on the "installing firmware" screen for about 6 minutes -- do NOT disconnect until you are told to do so.

Count me in for two updated iPhones without problems. Will be doing the third when I get home. I was running iTunes 7.5 for the update. 1.1.3 is a very nice upgrade. It has some nice features.

Many have since posted in other threads that they have updated to 1.1.3 without upgrading to iTunes 7.6 first, so apparently it works.

ITunes does not have to be updated before updating the iPhone. I did a software update early in the afternoon after the iPhone update was announced, and there were no updates available. I then synced my iphone and updated it. I did not receive the iTunes update until three hours later. Everything went well with both.

I was also able to update my phone without updating iTunes.

My iPhone was not hacked or anything, but for some reason at the start of the update it went into recovery mode. This meant that my phone has now been wiped 100% and is being restored!! 😐

Well at least I saw 1.1.3 just before the back up began!!

Isn't this fun! An hour in.....lol

i did reinstall both itunes and the apple mobile device program and it still not working properly. any other suggestions?
