Ipod Screen stuck on "connected, eject before disconnecting"

so I took out the pod before actually disconnecting it from my computer and my ipod screen is now stuck on that screen

and if i put it into my comp it USB does not recognize it.

please any help would be great...I cant even turn the ipod off
