Using Bluetooth to transfer photos from Sony K750i to Mac

I have never been able to do a bluetooth transfer from my phone to the Mac. I have, on the other hand, been able to freely transfer stuff from my Mac to my Sony Ericsson P910a.

So, you and I may be the only two folks on the planet who cannot do a Bluetooth transfer from phone to Mac, but I doubt it. I've not discovered anyone who has been able to do it and therefore provide me with a method to accomplish it.

However, all is not lost. Save your K750i photos to your Memory Stick. Buy a Memory Stick reader (they cost around $25), and, voila, you can automatically download your photos to iPhoto, and you're done. That's what I do. I also store MP3's that I convert from Apple Lossless to MP3 on the Memory Stick, so I have a wealth of cool ringtones for my phone. No, I would never use the phone as an iPod replacement. It makes no sense.

I recall reading somewhere (maybe the Apple KBase, maybe the k750i manual) that BT file transfer is a no-go on OSX. You have to do this via USB using the USB cable supplied with the k750i (at least one was supplied with my k750i- YMMV).

On connecting the k750i -> Mac, the Memory Stick in the phone should mount on the Mac's desktop, iPhoto should launch and recognise the k750i as a camera. You can then download your pics in iPhoto. No need to buy a Memory Stick reader.

have you noticed on your K750i that some files transferred to your phone via USB, create 2 files on your memory stick?

for example, I copied a 3gp video to my phone, to the 'video' folder. no worries.
but when I go to view the video on my phone, there are two files.
One is the video file, the other is a 'dummy' file about 1kb in size that has the same file name but has a ._ before it.

any idea how to stop this from happening?

Those are resource forks, they contain info about the file used by the Finder that's normally hidden on a Mac, but other OSes don't know what they are and so they become visible.

I have the same problem with the phone freezing when sending pics.
However you can still transfer your photos via Bluetooth to your Mac. Use Bluetooth on your Mac to search your phone and pull your pics off your phone that way. Works every time for me.
