iPhone stuck in "headphones" mode
Windows XP Pro
Windows XP Pro
I cannot believe I had this issue today - literally 4 days before I get the iPhone7. I went into panic mode and spoke to Apple Support chat online - we spent almost an hour testing voice memos, restoring my phone from backup and as new - no luck. Then we got cut off 😕
But then someone else took over and 'kindly' warned me that I was out of warranty so I would be liable for any hardware costs. YAY! However they told me of the simple trick of getting a cotton bud and gently inserting it into the jack to clear it out. I had no cotton buds so I delicately used a cocktail stick. Five mins later of tiny bits of lint coming out, hey presto! A bigger ball comes out and my phone went back into ringer mode! I could have cried. Literally.
Had this problem for a few days with my iPhone 4, took to genius bar and socket was full of pocket fluff, they removed it and now works fine.
Sucking Method Works. Thanks to the OP. I tried all others, tried the vaccum before sucking, but didnt work. At the end, sucked the problem out. where;s the mouthwash when you need it. !!
Go into settings, turn bluetooth on and then off again and that is what worked for me, worth a try
I plugged in a different set of earphones ( not for iphone) with a slightly shorter plug ( 2 rings instead of 3 ) and it worked ! :)
Sucking really hard on the input did the trick
Try changing your air play to another device then change it back. The phone will at this point realize there is no headphones attached and you can now select iPhone again
as funny as it sounds sucking really hard fixed mine! thank you!:)))
Can of compressed air did the trick!!!!!
Too funny - the crazy solution to suck on the hole where the earphone plug in worked for me too! At least now I know - go figure!
Wow the sucking on the headphone jack thing really worked. I thought it was a joke but it actually fixed the problem. Thanks guys.
I sucked on the hole where the headset plugs in and that actually worked after I had tried everything else suggested on this discussion. Good luck
Easiest and fastest fix is to run Shazam app. After which it will automatically switch from headphone mode.
I tried the various suggestions. In the end a few quick blasts with the hair drier did the trick!
