i tried everything i could think of i sucked on the headphone jack look to see for debris or anything suck and nothing i turned it on and off several times and still nothing so i was desperate i grabbed my blow dryer i set it on high and bam it worked i could hear everything hope this helps you an saves you money
So i dropped my iphone in my toilet on accident today. I was very quick to pulling it out and drying it off with a towel that was near me. Knowing that there was water making its way inside my headphone jack, charger and speaker outlet, i began to blow the water out of them as fast as i could. As i was Freaking out i went to ft my boyfriend but could not hear it ring nor could i hear him. My phone was stuck in "headphone" mode. I searched this up and began to read the comments. To my surprise and laughter the sucking at the headphone jack really worked!!! For me i had to suck at the headphone jack a fee times yet it still did not work but then i tried to suck on the charger part and it finally switched to ringer. I HIGHLY recommend you try this before taking it to any professionals.
This is going to sound strange...but no stranger than putting your phone in the fridge for 20 seconds. I had same problem. I ripped a small piece of a paper towel off, then twisted it like an arrow/pin...and twisted it inside of my my headset plug/insert. At first the paper towel was black when i pulled it out. Then some black rubber stuck to the paper towel and came out, twice. Restarted..now it works fine.
Hey Bro.
I recently had this problem also. I watched a YouTube video and tried the method.
The method is that
Go to Setting>General>Accessibility>Voice Over and turn voice over on. After That close settings and return to main screen. Now hold home button and say to siri "Turn the voice over off". Hope this will solve the problem if the problem is regarding the Software.
It worked for me.....
iphone 5s. stuck in headphones mode. i was playing a podcast on the speaker, then dropped it onto the shower floor while getting out, so very little water got on the phone (especially considering that i've dropped it into an actual bucket of water before and got it right out with no problem whatsoever). Sound played out loud for a brief moment as I picked the phone up, and then it suddenly went silent, so it didn't seem like it was hardware damage.
Anyway...IT WAS A SIMPLE FIX...I just twisted the corner of a napkin into a pokey shape and twisted it into the headphone jack a few times and like magic everything was back to normal. So yeah, must have been a drop of water in there fooling the contacts. Technically, I risked getting a bit of paper stuck in there, so...use your best judgement in cleaning out the port.
I tried everything for the last 4.5 hours. EVERYTHING. And I'm an Asian chick. This worked like a charm. Thank you B65 for your suggestion of putting the phone in the fridge for 20 seconds. That's all it took!
As I'm about to yell to my brother to call me, I just hear my music playing again after trying cotton swabs, toothpicks, sucking, compressed air, the freezer, and it was just while I was reading your post so thank you! Also my headphones used to not work but now the headphone jack and the speakers work 😀 partially thankful I dropped my phone in the pool.... 😝
If you've tried Swithing On/Off , Tried different Headphones, Cleaned the jack , reset iPhone and yet haven't find the way , TRY THIS One.
-Call Someone
- Try to change the Volume during call
- Tell the caller to drop/Cut the call and continue changing the volume
I hope it'll work
Thanx
I've just Done that(It's 8th Septmber 2017 8:55 PM )
My phone fell to the toilet, so there was a lot of water involved. I tried everything (qtip, blow drying, toothpick, calling from another phone, you name it) but I finally tried sucking the jack as hard as I could and it was instantly fixed.
I dropped my iPhone 6s+ to water and stuck with “headphone mode” for couple weeks. I tried many ways to take it back such as rice, silica, q-tip, cleaned or suck jack, blower, adjust volume, restart with conditions...
Now it’s back, by put it to the freezer for 10 mins (shutdown and wrapped by plastic bag first), and then turn it on.
Good Luck :)
Few things which worked for me
1) Turn on your alarm and see if sound comes
2)Got to settings and increase volume bar
3) Suck the air out of jack with pressure
4)turn down and up the ringer button which is above volume button on side
5)Turn of device and suck the air out by your mouth
I had this problem today. I fixed it by putting the iPhone in silent mode, then I plugged in the headphones, switched off silent mode, turned up the volume a little and removed the headphones. The speakers worked again.
Front Microphone while call - Not working
Speaker while call - Working
Speaker while Music - Not working
Headphone - Working in all condition
Seems phone stuck in 'Headphone' mode. There is no setting in any setting to comeout from this situation.
Tried as suggested by 'zomish. Surprise. It started working..
I am not sure what happen.. Seems It's iOs 11 problem.
Thanks
I tried the Q tip . Headphones in and out , speaker on and off but nothing worked . In the end I blasted the jack with the hairdryer and bingo it worked . So relieved. I had answered the phone with my hair wet so it was only a minute drops of water
Apologies for posting so far off topic on your reply... I’m about to chick it and get a ghetto-burner lol. At least you can hold us together for 10 years with electrical tape and they still work. JK 🍎 4 Life (maybe)
I saw you mentioned you tried the Q-tip thing, did you use a dry Q-tip or what? I can’t find the suggestion your reply is in response to. When I got a little bit of liquid laundry detergent on my screen, I quickly wiped it off and accidentally smeared into the ports. Mainly the speakers, I was advised to use a Q-tip that was just slightly dampened
