what i did
reverse roll masking tape, sticky side out, roll enough diameter that could fit the headphone socket, not too thin
then put inside socket then start twisting 10 -20 times

Dec 14, 2014 4:57 PM in response to awillimdby DaphneC91,I have tried absolutely everything nothing works! A bit of water got splashed on it so I assume that's what did it. But now it's stuck in headphone mode and I cant hear anything. I tried blowing and sucking, un-plugging and plugging in headphones, turning of f and on my phone, restarting it, having someone call me and turning the speaker on and off and blowing cold air into it from the freezer. NOTHING WORKS sug. I'm very annoyed and worried it's unfixable. Does anyone have ANY other suggestions?!?!?

Jan 23, 2015 3:32 PM in response to SoCalSkippyby Jerome28,I Myself I had water exposed to my iPad headphone jack, I followed the suck in headphone jack method and then held my ipad in front of a portable blow/fan heater for 10-15 so that the iPad would not break and then pressed the volume button up and voila it worked, volume now appears instead of headphones pop-up.
hope this helps.
