Jan 26, 2015 7:06 PM in response to SoCalSkippyby laurenappleme,Was having same issues, iPhone stuck in headphone mode, so solutions worked.. I also dropped in into the toilet in our staff bathroom as it was flushing. As a last resort after reading these posts I was going to "suck out the moisture" with my mouth. I just couldn't bring myself to do it given its previous location, even despite the 59 Clorox wipes I took to the phone. I took a small nozzle attachment and my vacuum cleaner and held it ovet the jack for 10 seconds.... BAM problem solved.

Mar 20, 2015 6:57 PM in response to iphoneuser429by mnm1987,In order to fix this issue do the following:
If you look closely Inside the Headphone port there are these tiny little metal screw Balls which get pushed in when you insert the Headphones.
The phone gets stuck in headphone mode (if in an event when these tiny little metal screws are pushed in).
To cut the long story short you all you need to do is push these metal balls screws in and out.
Simplest way to do so is to insert you headphone into the port and twist it around a bit.

Mar 26, 2015 1:13 PM in response to Markos.grby frederickfromdedham,I just fixed the problem by poking a *wooden toothpick* in the earphone jack and dragging out the lint. I spent a few minutes scraping the tip of the toothpick to different sides of the jack, then dragging the toothpick out. Each time I did this, I removed a little lint. However, it was still stuck in "headphone mode." I was just about to give up, but on my 6th or 7th attempt of dragging out lint, it worked!!!! Problem FIXED!!!!!

Apr 24, 2015 6:58 PM in response to SoCalSkippyby MrWowzer,After reading through this thread it became quite apparent that this is no single problem. There is a multitude of different ways your phone can get stuck in "headphones mode" and each requiring their own solution. For instance, to fix my audio i had to toggle speaker phone on/off and plug in/out headphones during a call. I think my problem had something to do with using the speaker phone, as i had been using it before this occurred.
EDIT:
Also i think i had taken calls on a multitude of occasions when my phone was connected to an aux cable, and i would end up unplugging the cable during the call to hear them through the phone.

Apr 29, 2015 11:33 AM in response to SoCalSkippyby bencjedi,Just had this problem too. I fixed it by turning the phone off and putting a twistie tie from a sandwich bag into the jack and spinning it, so the 'fins' scraped along the sides of the headphone jack. Then I turned it on, put it in airplane mode and turned it back off. I waited 30 seconds, then turned the phone back on, turned off airplane mode and made a call.. it worked!
Last week when I was running I sweat real bad with my 6+ in my arm band; the headphone plug pointing in direction to my hand and rammed into the pocket my forearm and bicept crease together. I ran 22 miles. Evidently the constant sweating and the plug being where it was must have had a capillary-effect on my sweat and took it up into the headphone jack. After the run when I took my headphones out of the jack I didn't notice anything, but a couple days later I went for another run and noticed the end of the headphone plug had a blue oxidative coating on it. Also the iPhone jack had that same blue around the rim. I noticed first that sound was only coming out of one ear bud and removing the plug that's when I noticed the blue corrosion. I think this 'gummed' up the jack. I hope my fix helps other runners who may have this same thing going on. The twistie tie seemed to scrape the sides of the jack and had a dark deposit along the edges of the twistie tie.
