Can I remove icon from my home screen

No, it appears you can't remove them.

You'll just have to ignore them, or perhaps you can move them to another home page to effectively hide them from view. (I've not tested this however).

Drag an icon to the far right of the screen and it will scroll across to a second page.

If you have updated to 1.1.3, you can move icons around. If you drag an icon to the right of the screen, it will automatically shift you over to a new, second home screen that is blank. You can hide your unused apps here.

Hate ta jump in here but my icons won't drag.

You have to purchase the 20 dollar upgrade to get them to move. You'll know you can because after you turn it back on after syncing, a pop up will tell you how to move the icons.

I did purchase the upgrade! Still can't do it. Am I doing something wrong?

When you're iPod is connected to your computer, make sure the version is "1.1.3 (with Software Upgrade)"

Then, turn it on, and press and HOLD on any icon, until all the icons wiggle. Then you can drag. When you're done, press the home button.

The latest software update gives to option to delete. left side top corner. press the home button. GREAT!
When you want to shift thru pages:
Then you can drag. When you're done, press the home button.
