Xitel INport?

Xitel INport?

I am trying to convert some old records to mp3 and have a Xitel INport. Soundtrack Pro recognizes it as an audio input device but it is not importing anything. Does anyone have any experience using this particular device?

Hi. Have you tried to record?

First chose the audio interface on right side of soundtrack for track 1. Set it up to stereo and chose your prefered device for listening whats going on (Monitor). Then click the "R" button on track 1 and the record button.

It totally works with Mac. You don't need the Xitel Inport software at all. Just plug the device into the USB. The Macbook recognizes it immediately. Using a recording software (I am using Garageband), you can now record your analogue data into the software. I was not able to listen to it while recording (somehow the Inport Device blocks the output into the computer monitor speakers). But after the recording you can pull out the Inport out of the USB and Voila! Excellent!
