Beware: Motorola v265 owners/purchasers

Apple states that this phone is supported but you will sadly find out it MAY not be! I had to purchase a program OnSync to do what Apple's iSync will not, but supposedly does, according to the "supported devices" iSync info. Consider another phone if you can. I have tried all of the patches/workarounds/fixes and NOTHING works. Nobody is a bigger Apple fan that I am but this is absolutely inexcusable. Shame on Apple for falsely warranting this phone is supported. It may be, but then again, maybe not. That is how Microsoft/Windoze works. That is not supposed to be the Mac experience.

Go to isync contents folder.

Applications/iSync.app/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/Pl ugIns/PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin/Contents/Resources/MetaClasses.plist

Where ever you see "265" put the letter "m" after it except where "265" is next to the word "tiff". Save your changes. (the document opens up in text edit). Then your Mac will recognize it. By the way, I updated the latest OS last night and the "m" was erased. iSync could not recognize my phone. I did the above and my Mac now recognizes my phone and I'm syncing the information I need. This is work

Hello,

Update about my last message: I was finally able to access the specified file. I modified the contents as described, and when I returned to iSync the image of my phone remained however a large question mark was underneath it. I tried to sync without success.

Afterwards I tried to remove my device, reboot iSync, and add my device again: it did not recognize my device.

I went back to the file, changed it to its original state (without the m after each model number) and it detected my phone... but I still cannot sync my contacts.

I have finally synchronized my contacts with my Telus Motorola v265 mobile phone. How? I downloaded OnSync, and although the model of this phone does not appear in their list of supported phones, it detected my phone as the right model, and it functioned properly.

Obviously this problem is with iSync, and not with Telus Mobility phones (considering some people with the same model with Verizon in the states seem to have less problems).

You can download a demo version to test it out, to see if it works. However in the demo version you must select each contact independantly to synchronize with your phone. However once I got my first contact in on my phone I was exstatic and didn't really care about having to do them one by one!

I hope this will work for all of you. I have purchased the full version just because I was so happy that after hours of trying to fix this bug, finally something worked!!!
