Hi People, Still having the Specified Volume Doesn't Exist problem with the EXS 24, So I see no other option than to reinstall the Factory Sounds from the Logic Cd. Is it safe to do this or will I loose my personal presets? I don't see any way of loading the EXS 24 sample library on its own. Can anyone advise? Cheers, Someonelikeyou.
You should have no problems reinstalling the samples.
Just make sure you put them in the right place.
Do you have your samples on an external?
Have you used the Project manager?
Hi Robert, Thanx for replying!!! Do you know how I can install just the sample instruments library? If I choose custom install and highlight the sample instruments library will this install just the highlighted files? If I cannot reinstall just the SI Library will a full Factory Sounds Reinstall wipe out my saved synth patches/sampler instruments etc? I'm really loathed to re-install as I'm sure that there is a way to "Fix" this. As far as I can tell all the Factory Samples are there in their correct location and are accessible via other Plug-Ins.
In answer to your question I am not using an external HD as I don't use that many samples, just the occasional Drum Hit or Field Recording. Project Manager is set to Load Project Manager Database. Anyway any help would be great. Someonelikeyou...
You should have no problem re-installing,
but are you sure the files are not on your hard drive?
There are 2 folders: "EXS Factory Samples" (the .aif files)
and "Sampler Instruments" (the .exs files).
They should be in: Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Logic.
Were they moved?
Your saved plug-in settings should be in:
User/Library/Application Support/Plug In settings
Berore you re-install, in Project Manager
choose your hard drive and do an Expanded Scan
Hi Robert, Your a Genius!!! I reinstalled the Factory Sound Library last night in desperation and guess what? The problems increased!!! I was beginning to think the worse and that I might have to reinstall Logic and all the hastle that involves. Then I checked here. So far all the broken Sample Instruments seem to be working normally. When I reinstalled the Factory Sounds will the old Samples and Sampler Instruments simply have been overwritten? Man it bit to reinstall!!! What causes this sort of conflict? Anyway a million thanx. Someonelikeyou.
In my experience, Logic does not overwrite duplicate files;
you may have multiple copies of certain folders.
Carefully check for those folders I mentioned above.
You may want to set up Project Manager so that you
keep a copy of all files used in a song in the song folder.
That way you can archive your songs and be confident
that all associated files remain with the song.
