MacPro and World of Warcraft

I am looking to get a mac that can play games pretty well (probably more World of Warcraft). Anyone have a set-up like this or know if it would run well on high settings?

Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (8-core)
4GB (4 x 1GB)
500GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB (Two dual-link DVI)
One 16x SuperDrive
AirPort Extreme card (Wi-Fi)
Apple wireless Mighty Mouse
Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) + Mac OS X
iWork '08 preinstalled

MacBook Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.4.9), 2.0Ghz, 1 Gig. of RAM, 80 Gig. HD

That machine would be great for WoW.
I would suggest not getting the Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse for Gaming, they both look great but performance from wired will always be better. Plus the wireless keyboard does not have a numeric keypad, which I use all the time in WoW. I'd recommend the usb model keyboard and getting a better preforming mouse like the Razer Pro v1.6 Mouse.

I have the same system you are describing here - with the exception of having wired keyboard and a logitech usb gaming mouse. I play WoW at 2560 x 1600 on my Dell 30" with ALL settings maxed and it is smoking fast, even with a bunch of other apps open ( i use Spaces to switch out).

I also Boot Camp into XP and play BF2142 and CoD4 80fps with 2x AA and all other settings max.

I should mention that it is VERY quiet too.

it's a great rig...

2nd that recommendation.. I got the aluminum USB keyboard for Christmas because of WOW.. Wore out the old plastic one.. I use the numeric keypad for all my abilities so the wireless wasn't even an option. I also have a Razer Copperhead mouse and its the way to go.. (any good gaming mouse anyway, not just Razer) Mighty mouse will not cut it for WOW (or any twitch game I guess)

1st gen Macpro by the way, no problems AFTER Apple sent me a replacement for the original 1900xt.
