Itunes 7.6 will not Restore iPod error 1433

My Ipod has been on the fritz this week. I want to blame 7.6, and there seems to be some problems with it based on the comments here! I use disk mode on my ipod to transfer work files from the office to home. Two Photoshop files I had been working on were corrupt when I went to open them after transporting them. When I connected my ipod at work (sync at home) it gave me some "itunes can't read this ipod error. I haven't had any problems lately with the ipod not playing but I thought I would go ahead and do a restore to try and resolve.

When I use 7.6 to try and do that I get a "iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred." I read that somepeople had luck unsyncing things like photos, addresses, so I unchecked everything, updated the ipod so nothing left on it. Deleted all the files (Notes, work files, etc) from disk mode. STILL couldn't get a restore.

I took my ipod to my wifes ibook (still on 7.5) and was able to do a restore. Bringing the ipod back to 7.6 on my computer and trying the restore again..and still get the 1433 error. I have done a reinstall of 7.6 no help either.

Anyone??
