"An error occured inside a plug-in contianed on this page"

I keep getting this error message followed by "The plug in did not initialize properly". Say I open a new browser, a file will open in quicktime once but if I go to another file it gives me this message... Anyone know what the malfunction is? I just updated my iTunes/Quicktime software and this started.

I'm really worried about it. I have a business that relies on these quicktime plugins. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We have created thousands of panoramic images using QTVR. Every display page directs viewers to Apple.com to download the latest QuickTime. I was about to post a 15 pano site for a chamber of commerce client and noticed that Apple had posted QT 7.4. I installed the new software and in testing, discovered that all our panos are broken. We would get "The plug in did not initialize properly".

I contacted friends in the IVRPA community and other professional VR firms and most are experiencing this issue, but on a very intermittant level.
In testing I even found that Apple's main site would crash intermitantly. Please go to www.apple.com and open the airbook ad. With QuickTime 7.4 and IE 7.0.5730.11 We have been getting intermitant lock ups. Some times you can view the Air Book ad, sometimes the ad locks up.

The same circumstances have appeared with museum sites using QT. Our own gallery failed to load this morning. www.buzz-card.com/gallery.html Two questions: are others finding similar problems? Is Apple concerned?

Just as others have said , we built a business around QTVR. The software had been fabulous in the past. However the 7.4 glitches are a serious and un-expected problem. Our clients will not accept a solution which works "sometimes".

Wow... I posted this and went almost 2 whole days with no response... I'm glad to know it's not just me (kinda). I have a business doing virtual home tours and I am very concerned and rely heavily on this plug in for clients to view homes. I have found no way to contact Apple directly about this problem and I'm pretty frustrated. Thank you for the info about Firefox. I will now try to contact microsoft about the problem and see if they have any answers. Let's keep this thread active so maybe, Apple will notice. If you are experiencing this problem please comment this thread!

If you find a solution please share it.

I am having the same issues here. I do videos for a realty company and they are all in quicktime. The problem is definitely between IE7 & QuickTime 7.4. I've tested it with IE7 & 7.3 and it works fine. So far the only work around is using Firefox or downloading the 7.3 QuickTime version from Apple's site here. I've tried calling the "Contact Us" support # and they don't have any phone support, just this forum....THATS IT!! I'm a little ticked off on this, mostly because I don't know what to tell the clients about fixing this problem besides making them go out of their way to view the videos. If anyone has any ideas or finds anything, please post ASAP!! Thanks!!

I'm having the same problem after installing QT 7.4 on XP Pro and IE 7. When I first open IE 7 and click a QT video it will play but if I try and view another QT video I then get the "An error occured inside a plug-in contained on this page". I can close and restart IE 7 and QT will again let me view the first video I click on but that all. The error pops up again each time after that.

Knowing I didn't have this problem with QT 7.3 I install it over QT 7.4 just fine but I still have the same problem. QT 7.4 has really goofed things up.

I hope someone or Apple comes up with a solution fast, it's driving me crazy.

The same thing is happening to me. How can you get help with this thing? This is one MORE reason I don't get a MAC. And I am VERY glad I didn't get the QuickTime Pro -- no one helps you. I am taking a class online and need QuickTime to watch the lessons -- it's for my job. I'm having to actually reboot after each video lesson to get another one to play. It plays once, then I get the "error occured inside a plugin on this page' message. Doesn't anyone from Apple monitor these boards and see that they have really messed up?
