Very confusing & not up to Apple standards

ATV print ads show the movie 'Transformers' but if you search the iTunes movie library for it, it doesn't show up!
The instructions for setting up the ATV are terrible - I've used Apple a long time and this is truly aweful - I've walked between my iMac and ATV about 20 times now trying to get it to synch up. Pls fix this mess Apple!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.

The tv is really quite simple to set up. I recently bought one for my niece (6), her father is very anti- and wouldn't help her one bit, she had it up and running in about 15 minutes.

Can you tell us at what stage you have encountered problems, give us some description of what you have done, what you can't do and what, if any, error messages you are receiving.

I actually bought my ATV a year ago - it works great for photos and the part of my music collection I synched. Issues:

- The streaming connection takes long to synch and if you 're-select' it, generates another code to enter on itunes (but you can't, as its already set up)
- there's no explanation of what the 'new itunes' connection does or why we cant yet see HD content (i eventually saw user comments that its out in 2 weeks)
- searching for 'Transformers' on iTunes did not find the movie!!

I'm not sure what you mean here, streaming and syncing are two different things. If it's streaming it merely needs to stream fast enough for uninterrupted playback, if you have slow syncing then it is likely your network which is slow.

if you 're-select' it, generates another code to enter on itunes (but you can't, as its already set up)

Not sure what you are selecting here, but it sounds like you are trying to add or change a library, there is no need to do this.

there's no explanation of what the 'new itunes' connection does

You use the 'connect to a new itunes library' option to set up a second macs/PCs itunes library, if you are only using one computer you have no need to select his option.

or why we cant yet see HD content

You can see HD content providing you have some to see, I've been watching HD home movies for a number of months already

searching for 'Transformers' on iTunes did not find the movie!!

I live in the UK so I have no idea what movies are yet available for rent, I can't really answer this last point but perhaps transformers is not yet available to rent.

Thank you Winston for your answer to "there's no explanation of what the 'new itunes' connection does.

Your answer : You use the 'connect to a new itunes library' option to set up a second macs/PCs itunes library, if you are only using one computer you have no need to select his option.

I was confused - I thought the "new Itunes" was a feature I needed. I only have 1 Mac. The instructions are poor in this regard. I made many trips up and down the stairs trying to enter a needless code.
