I just did my 1.1.3 iPhone update a few days ago...and just installed Leopard last night on my Macbook Pro. Now when I plug in my phone it doesn't show up in itunes, but iPhoto does recognize it......any ideas? I have reset my iPhone as noted in other posts, however this did not remedy the problem.
Will,
I'm having the same problem. Updated iPhone to 1.1.3 yesterday, just installed leopard today(as well as current updates) and iTunes(7.6) doesn't recognize my iPhone. Anyone have any thoughts??
EXACTLY the same problem. Update to 1.1.3 earlier this week and everything worked fine. Installed Leopard and now the iPhone will not connect to iTunes. Yes I have iTunes 7.6 and all other updates in the queue.
Fixed. I downloaded iTunes (
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) and installed without removing the one that was already there. Everything syncs fine now.
You did quite a few things with your computer - installing a major OS upgrade along with a new version of iTunes and QuickTime and it seems something went awry with the iTunes update after all of this.
Although this probably went without a hitch for the vast majority, sometimes a component doesn't get updated properly. I installed Leopard on my Mac without any problems whatsoever including with my iPhone but I didn't do all at once - Leopard, iTunes and the 1.1.3 update.
Me too, same situation. Updated iPhone to 1.1.3 a few days ago. No problem. Then upgraded iMac to Leopard yesterday, and when I next plugged in my iPhone to sync, iTunes didn't recognize. Reinstalled iTunes on top of existing 7.6 and problem solved.
Right guys and girls I have a windows PC, I have an Iphone which was working fine up until I updated Itunes the other day. Now after the Itunes update I can no longer getItunes to connect to the Iphone. The photo part of it comes up, I get a "bling" noise to let me know it is there but as far as Itunes is concerned it is not here. The link above mentioned does not help and now I feel slightly lost, any help would be great 🙂
Hi I have a iPhone and the same thing happened to me. Someone from a different discussion advised me to uninstall the Apple Mobile Device Support, iTunes and Quicktime and then reinstall the iTunes 7.6. Go to control panel add/remove software and uninstall these program then reinstall iTunes. I hope this helps.
Just thought I'd add myself to the list, but mine gets recognized sometimes. Then even when it is recognized, sometimes the sync just stops and my iPhone looks like it was never connected in the first place.
Had Tiger
Installed 1.1.3 update
Upgraded to Leopard
Ran latest updates (I'm not sure, but I think this is where the iPhone stopped showing up in iTunes' device area).
I reinstalled iTunes 7.6 and it fixed the issue.
Apple's help page 'Article: 305719' does recommend to reinstall iTunes as the last step.
Aye. I'm having the same problem with my iPhone. I just want to cry. btw, the problem is with the phone, not the comp because when i turn my phone off and plug in the cable, the phone turns on.. but right when you would normally enter the home screen the phone's screen goes white then turns back off again (after which it turns back on and repeats the process).... in other words, yeah, methinks we may have a couple o' bricked iphones on our hands.
