Tascam DM24 Firewire Card Problems

Anybody familar with the Tascam DM-24 Digital Mixer? I recently purchased the Firewire option card for this when I got my Dual G5 and could no longer use my older MOTU PCI interface. For the 1st few months after installing the card it worked great, however the interface into CoreAudio provides no options what so ever and now I am having problems. I use Logic Pro and it seems if I turn the DM-24 off while in Logic, it becomes very hard to then get sound to send back to the DM-24. Sometimes rebooting or turning the DM24 on and off or unplugging the Firewire cable works but I can not track down a specific solution.

Can anyone offer some assistance?

I am thinking about changing over to one of the more dedicated Control Surface/Interface devices by Tascam (1884).
