Voice Chat in Yahoo Messenger

Hi everyone,

It's been a little while since I've asked a question, so I thought it was about time. hahaha, not really.

I recently installed the new Yahoo Messenger beta version 3.0, and I was wondering is there a way to do Voice Chat with Yahoo Messenger, or is it not supported. I know you can do it with a PC, but that might not have anything to do with the price of tea in China so...

If anyone has some advice, awesome, if not, that's cool too. Thanks for listening/reading my question.

Yahoo has really left those of us in the MacOS side of things high and dry. You cannot do voice chat with any version of Yahoo Messenger on the Mac. You can't even hear audio with the other person's Webcam.

I suppose if you installed Parallels, and used the PC version of YIM on the Windows side/partition of Parallels -- you could then install and use the full set of features of Yahoo Messenger.

hey ajm/tony, i hope you're still checking the forums.

There is a way to go around it. I use Ichat. You just need to have a .mac (which is not free) or an aim account (FREE!). Now, i use this to chat with people that I need to video conference with. Im not sure if its only mac to mac, because all the people I video conference with have mac and ichat may only be available for mac os.
