MacBook Pro constantly losing wireless connectivity

Hi folks,

Well, I read a ton of posts regarding MacBook Pro wireless networking issues before buying a wireless router last month, and now it's "me too."

Our iBook has no problems whatsoever with dropped connections, but the MBP loses access every few minutes or so. I usually follow a sequence of "Turn AirPort Off"/"Turn Airport On" to cycle the connection, and sometimes this works. It's an almost constant problem. This is a standard configuration MBP.

The router happens to be a D-Link DIR-615, but I've seen enough posts about problems with the Airport Express and MacBook Pros to know it's not the router that's the problem--it's the MacBook Pro (I notice a few similar posts even on the first page of this forum).

Dear Apple: what are you doing about this issue?

Has anyone else somehow resolved this problem? If there was only a couple of posts about this issue, then it might be written off as problems with a specific router, or specific users. But when there's a ton of messages all complaining about the same problem, then it's more likely a significant defect that needs to be fixed by the manufacturer, and won't be fixed by standard troubleshooting procedures of the mundane kind (Tech Support Theater: "Is your router turned on?").

Dear Apple: where are you?

Hs,

I hate to say it, but my wifi problem returned after several days too. I went as far as trying a clean install and just running Safari for a bit with no other apps migrated on the new install with the same result. At this point I'm thinking maybe the Airport card or the ribbon cable are the problem. I'm pretty sure I've tried pretty much every solution that anyone has posted with no lasting good result. It's fairly easy to change the Airport card in my model, so I'm going to try that at some point. In the meantime, I've got an Edimax nano USB adapter plugged in and I have to say it works great.

Based on the widespread problems and that so many different fixes seem to work for some people, I think there's some incompatibility between certain Broadcom cards (Airport) and certain motherboards. I hate intermittent problems. If it would just outright fail I'd know when it was fixed.

I gave up and went this route too! I FINALLY have internet again!!!

This discusion is exactly my problem. I am from Denmark but in Spain for a longer time. My new and very expensive MBP cannot all the time connect to a router in Spain. I have no control over the router - it is on a campsite and I buy access. I have Iphone and Ipad and buy access asswell.

The problem is that Iphone and Ipad works with no problem, but me MBP shows full signal but sometimes no internetconnection. In diagnostics it says someting about countrycode and I do not know how to change codes. I have no special skills in Mac but it is painfull to have to close my MBP 2013 Retina 15" and use Ipad.I need badly help

did you install the 10.9.2 update?

Install it if you haven't already.

I dont know who is reading this from Apple, but I will tell you this: It is totally unacceptabel that this discusion is going on. We - the customers - buy the worlds most expensive laptop and are completly ignored by Apple when there is a serious problem for many of us users.

there are 129 pages of complaining of MacBook Pro constantly loosing wireless connectivity. I can acces the internet on my Iphone and on my Ipad with no problems. I can access the internet on my old windows computer with no problems, but I cannot use my MBP Retina 15. It is a joke.

I ask some competent person from Apple to give an explanation right now.
