IHOME INTERFERENCE WITH TV REMOTE

HI!
Some days ago I start to have problems with my Ihome and the tv Remote. Here's the problem: everytime that I down the volume of my tv with the remote, my Ihome turns on instantaneously and if I conitnue downing the volume it start's to change of radio station, it's so weird, 'cause I bougt it like 6 months ago and it was working just fine like until 2 weeks ago that begins to show like an interference between the 2 of them.
I appreciate if somebody can help me to fix this problem!
Thanks for your time!

The iHome isn't actually an Apple product, so I'm not sure if discussions of problems with it belong on these boards, but I'm having the same problem. I bought mine around the same time, early fall. I have a Sony Bravia TV (you didn't say what type of TV you have). My remote didn't interfere with the alarm clock until about two weeks ago (mid January). So I went about 3 months with no problems.

I've played with all the buttons, and there are at least 3 that affect the alarm clock. Volume down turns on the radio and cycles through your preset stations. The right arrow on the menu select circle cycles the other way through the presets. I think the jump button did something as well, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

I e mailed both Sony's tech support and the tech support at www.ihomeaudio.com. Both said there is no way to change the frequency of the remotes. The response from ihome was to block the left speaker grate with something as this is where the IR receiver lives. This isn't very helpful. A large physical object kind of fixes the problem, but it also blocks that speaker, and looks way out of place and doesn't work 100% of the time. I've tried tape, foil, all sorts of different things to cover part of the speaker, nothing seems to work well.

I'm still searching for ways to disable the remote on the clock. That's how I came across this thread. If I find anything I'll post it here.

I have the same problem on the alarm wherein the TV remote turns off/on my alarm, iHome sugegsted that I cover the bottom screen below the clock display where the iHome remote sensor is located. I first covered the sensor with paper and it did help for a little bit, but, since the the TV remote can still control my iHome from both ends of the iHome, I decided to cover the entire length of the screen from end to end of the iHome and it stopped the interference. I know it looks ugly, but, this was the only way it stopped the interference.
