Blocking icmp ping requests

Hi.
I used packet filtering firewall called BrickWall long time ago but i found it not good. Can someone save my time and tell me how to block icmp ping request packets by the help of ipfw utility? I just want my machine be not reachable by sending "raw" pings.
Thanks!

Hi Haci,
Welcome to Apple Discussions. I believe that the application to which you refer is called Brickhouse. It's actually a great application but doesn't allow for the granularity of control that you and I prefer. The ipfw command for blocking pings is:

sudo ipfw add 7000 deny icmp from any to any in icmptypes 8

Of course you should change the rule number to fit your ruleset. Other icmptypes can be specified in a comma-delimited list.

Anti-trust laws should be approached with exactly that attitude.
