not connected

Hi just changed over from Pc to mac installed all updates but like so many here having problems with safari. Error "not connected to internet shows" when mainly visiting Apple.com or Apple.co.uk and recently any thing typed in the google search bar. I used Safari for windows with no problems. Thought it could be my wireless router so switch to a Lan cable and the problems still there. I found restarting the mac solves the problem but I don't want to do this often. What does the ad say "Mac they just work".
